Maniac
Maniac is crazy. It’s part underground hip hop, part mainstream rap and part Hollywood all rolled up into one cohesive, creepy package and it will be unleashed in its entirety next month.
Maniac is a project involving Shia Lebouf, Kid Cudi and (an underground hip hop MC who many of you may not have heard of yet) Cage. The two rappers, Cage and Cudi, wrote and recorded “Maniac,” and it’s been leaked for a while now – a simple Youtube search would find it relatively easily. Where it gets interesting is when Shia enters the picture. The song provides the basis for a short film that Shia will direct.
What many folks don’t know is that Shia Lebouf is a HUGE hip hop fan and has a particular affinity for the underground variety. He is also real-life buddies with Cage – and has even made it known that he would like to make a movie about Cage’s life someday.
You can scope out the eerie trailer for the short film here and keep your eyes peeled for the official release of Maniac in October.
