Rooney Mara

For a young and aspiring actress, having a first name like Patricia is pretty traditional and doesn’t really make you standout from your peers. Perhaps that’s why Patricia Mara decided to start going by her middle name, Rooney.

 

Rooney Mara is a 26-year-old American actress who has made a lasting impression on Hollywood in a relatively short period of time. She started landing small film and TV roles in 2005 but since she landed her first major, leading film role (Nancy in the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street), she has quickly bypassed her peers and found herself at the front of the line for A-list standing.

 

After Nightmare, Rooney was in the 2010 smash-hit The Social Network, which made her a household name. Her next project is the lead female role in a 3-part movie series about the Millenium book series. The first of the films, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, co-stars Daniel Craig and is directed by David Fincher (Fight Club). The film debuts on December 21^st of this year.
