Shailene Woodley

Shailene Woodley started modeling at age 4 and snagged her first on-screen role at age 8. Unless you were a fan of The O.C. or The Secret Life of the American Teenager, you may not be too familiar with her work…until now.

Undoubtedly, Woodley’s biggest role so far came in 2011’s The Descendants, in which she plays George Clooney’s oldest daughter, Alex. The supporting role finds her playing somewhat of a miscreant teenager (even though she’s actually 20) who is at war with her family life and herself. Alongside Clooney’s great performance and a stellar picture overall, The Descendants may very well bring home the Oscar for best picture.

 

Woodley has won several regional awards and was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role (but didn’t win) and is currently nominated for a SAG award and an Independent Spirit Award. While no new films are o her plate right at the moment, rest assured that all the award and nominations will make her a hot commodity in the months to come and you will definitely see more of her.
