Tom Hardy

Acting is a funny business. You can work your butt off your whole life and never amount to anything or you can get lucky and land a dream role on your first go-around (talking to you, Macaulay Culkin). For most people in the business, it’s a matter of keeping your nose to the grindstone and waiting for that one perfect role to come along. For Tom Hardy, that role came in the 2009 film, Bronson.

British actor, Tom Hardy, is probably best known for his role as Eames in Inception but it was his portrayal of Charles Bronson/Michael Peterson in 2009 that put him on the map. Since then, Hardy has been one of the most sought after actors in the world and he’s about to get even bigger.

In 2012, Hardy will play the role of Batman’s latest nemesis, Bane, in the final Chris Nolan directed Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. The role will put him alongside Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and will also reunite him with his former Inception cast mate, Joseph Gordon-Leviit. Although the film still has a whole year before hitting screens, it’s already one of the most highly anticipated movies in the world and will assuredly launch Hardy into superstardom.

Things are looking bright for the 33-year-old who also has films with Shia LeBeouf and Colin Firth coming out in 2012 as well. Keep an eye on Hardy’s budding career.
